Terms and Conditions – Funny Women Amsterdam

Last Updated: March 4, 2026

Welcome to Funny Women Amsterdam. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the relationship between Funny Women Amsterdam (the “Organiser”), its audience members (“Attendees”), and its performers (“Performers”). By purchasing a ticket, registering for an event, or applying to perform, you agree to these Terms.

1. General Provisions

Funny Women Amsterdam provides a platform for live comedy, workshops, and community events. We are committed to a safe, inclusive, and professional environment. These terms apply to all digital interactions, bookings, and physical attendance at our partner venues.

2. Terms for Attendees (Ticket Holders)

  • 2.1. Lineup and Programming

    • Right to Change: Lineups are curated based on performer availability. All program announcements are vrijblijvend (without obligation).

    • Substitutions: The Organiser reserves the right to alter, substitute, or withdraw any advertised performer at any time (including mid-show) due to illness, travel delays, or other circumstances.

    • No Refunds for Lineup Changes: A lineup change does not constitute a "material change" to the event. The ticket covers the event experience as a whole; therefore, alterations do not entitle Attendees to refunds or exchanges.

  • 2.2. Booking and Contract Formation

    • Non-Binding Status: Automated "booking received" or "thank you" emails are acknowledgements of receipt, not a binding contract.

    • Contract Finalisation: A binding contract is formed only after the Organiser successfully processes payment and issues a final, valid ticket/QR code.

    • Right to Void: We reserve the right to cancel bookings due to technical errors, overcapacity, or safety concerns. In such cases, a full refund of the ticket price is the sole remedy.

  • 2.3. Refunds and Conduct

    • Sales are Final: All sales are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled in its entirety.

    • Right of Refusal: In accordance with Dutch Huisregels (House Rules), the Organiser or Venue staff may refuse entry or remove anyone exhibiting disruptive, harassing, or intoxicated behaviour. No refunds will be issued for removals based on conduct.

3. Terms for Performers and Artists

  • 3.1. Non-Binding Correspondence

    • Email Correspondence: Any correspondence regarding "potential spots," "pencilled dates," or "provisional bookings" is for scheduling purposes only.

    • Confirmation: A booking or scheduling email is not legally binding. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel a Performer’s set at any time, for any reason, without liability for fees, travel costs, or expenses.

    • The Organiser reserves the right to cancel a Performer’s set at any time due to any circumstances, without liability for performance fees, travel costs, or associated expenses.

  • 3.2. Set Management

    • The Organiser maintains absolute discretion over the running order and set durations. Performers acknowledge that stage times may be adjusted on the night to ensure the production’s quality.

  • 3.3. Media and Intellectual Property

    • Recording: The Organiser may photograph or film the event. By performing, the Performer grants the Organiser a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use the Performer's likeness and snippets of the Performer's performance for promotional purposes.

    • Ownership: Performers retain 100% ownership of their original comedic material and scripts.

4. Liability and Governing Law

  • 4.1. Force Majeure (Overmacht)

    • The Organiser is not liable for failures resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: strikes, extreme weather, venue closure, or government-mandated regulations.

  • 4.2. Limitation of Liability

    • Attendance and performance are at the individual's own risk. The Organiser is not responsible for personal property lost or damaged at the venue.

    • The Organiser shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g., pre-booked travel or hotel costs) resulting from event changes or cancellations.

  • 4.3. Governing Law

    • These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be settled exclusively by the competent courts in Amsterdam.
